Tulsa Rotaract Foundation Scholarship

The Rotaract Club of Tulsa’s mission is to develop future leaders within the Tulsa community through service, professional development, and a commitment to learning about the global impact of our actions.

Therefore, in 2016 Tulsa Rotaract set out to raise funds to establish a scholarship to be given each year to an Oklahoma high school male and female student, as a way to invest in the future leaders of our community. Recipients of the Tulsa Rotaract Foundation Scholarship will have demonstrated leadership capabilities in the classroom and in the community, through a commitment to excellence in school and through the participation in community service projects and various local charitable efforts.

In addition to wanting to recognize and reward the many accomplishments of outstanding Oklahoma students, the Tulsa Rotaract Foundation Scholarship is inspired in part by the actions and efforts of Rose and Howard Latschar. The Latschars played an integral role in the childhood rearing and support of one of Tulsa Rotaract's past presidents. The Latschars stressed diligence and excellence in the classroom and encouraged giving back to the community as much as possible, which are beliefs also held by Tulsa Rotaract and are indicative of successful recipients of this scholarship.
